The trial of the woman who ploughed into the Javea cyclists team in 2017 will be held in November

by Loraine Gostling

More than three years after the horrific accident on the N-332 between Oliva and El Verger, in which three cyclists died and two others were seriously injured, the woman responsible will, at last, face trial.

Local newspaper Levante-EMV has confirmed that the trial will be held at the headquarters of the Palace of Justice in Gandia on 6th November.

Edu Monfort, José Antonio Albi and Luis Alberto Contreras lost their lives in the accident. Scott Gordon and Andrés Contreras, who were both seriously injured, thankfully continue to recover gradually from her actions, which have meant years of hospital stays and innumerable surgical operations.
