Forbes magazine has updated the list of the 100 wealthiest businessmen in Spain .

In 2021 there are four Valencians who are part of what is one of the most important rankings in the economic world.

The leader of Mercadona, Juan Roig ; his wife, Hortensia Herrero ; the owner of Pamesa, Fernando Roig ; and the Shareholder of Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, José Ignacio Comenge , are the four greatest Valencian fortunes.

Between the four businessmen they are worth a total of 7.950 million euros , a figure that reflects a loss of 300 million euros compared to last year.

Mercadona’s majority shareholder is ranked fourth in the largest fortunes in Spain. This has fallen one position, going from 4,100 million to 3,700 million. With this decrease, Roig cedes third position to Rafael del Pino y Calvo-Sotelo , president of Ferrovial.

Similar happens with Hortensia Herrero, the Valencian businesswoman who has gone from being the sixth largest fortune in Spain with 2,400 million to drop to the eighth position after losing 100 million euros in one year.

On the other hand, Fernando Roig improved his fortune . This remains in position 14 but has gone from having 1,300 million to 1,400 million.

The case of Comenge is also significant. The Coca Cola businessman improved his profits by going from 450 million to 550 million euros in a year.

At the national level, the owner of Inditex Amancio Ortega stands out as the greatest fortune in Spain . The Galician increases his fortune with 67,000 million euros, 10,000 million more than in 2021, followed by his daughter Sandra Ortega with 6,300 million euros.
