News just in that French air traffic controllers are due to join a national strike in France on Tuesday, 12 September 2017, which could have an impact on flights between the UK and Spain which usually travel through French airspace.
One of the main air traffic controllers unions in France, the USAC CGT, is supporting the call for strikes in the public and private sectors by the General Confederation of Labour (CGT). The strike is being called in opposition to new French labour regulations. The strike will occur at the same time that Air France pilots are taking strike action (09 September to 12 September).
Head of the La France Insoumise political party and former presidential candidate, Jean-Luc Mélanchon, is also calling for French workers to strike on 23 September.
More talks on the Spanish strike threat are due to be held on 12th September also.
