Health warning issued on some frozen pizzas

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has warned about theĀ presence of histamineĀ in some batches of Consum brand frozen tuna pizzas.

Consum has withdrawn the product from its shelves and has initiated an investigation with the product’s manufacturer, Muntua Surgelati (Italy), as reported in a statement.

The supermarket company has urged consumers who have purchased these lots to go to the point of sale where they were purchased and return them. “If you have units of these lots at home, refrain from consuming them and return them to any Consum establishment, and the amount will be reimbursed,” reads the same text.

TheĀ affected batchesĀ are the following: NE16, NE25, NE09, NF27, NF23, NG08, NB17, NB24, NC03 and NH05.Ā They have been distributed in the following autonomous communities: Aragon, Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha, Murcia and the Valencian Community.

The alert comes after the health authorities of the Valencian Community have given the notice, and after the company’s “self-control” protocols, according to AESAN.
