Benitachell Rose Fetival 2023 – Programme

This return of this annual event event will take place from now until May 4th to May 14th with the festivities in honour of the Virgen de la Rosa.

Thursday 4th May
19:30 Holy Mass followed by a Triduum to the Virgen de la Rosa.
19:30 pm Presentation of the 10th Puig Llorença Research Prize at the Social Centre.

Friday 5th May
19:30 hours Holy Mass followed by a Triduum to the Virgen de la Rosa.

Saturday 6th May
11:00 a.m. Storytelling Laboratory in the Municipal Library.
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Popular games and Carousel in the Mercat car park.
12:00 General ringing of bells.
18:30 hours Parade and collection of the festive women by the festival goers, accompanied by the Agrupación Musicomunicipal Santa María Magdalena de El Poble Nou de Benitatxell.
19:15 hours Concentration in the Oratory of all the participants in the Offering of Flowers.
19:30 Holy Mass followed by a Triduum to the Virgen de la Rosa.
19:45 hours Offering of flowers to the Virgen de la Rosa, accompanied by the Colla la Llebetjà and the Agrupación Musicomunicipal Sta. María Magdalena del Poble Nou de Benitatxell. While the offering is being made, there will be a display of traditional dances by the Grup de Danses Morro Falquí in the Plaza de la Iglesia.
00:00 hours Dancing night in Calle La Pau with the orchestra La Fiesta.


Sunday 7th May
08:00 a.m. Awakening of the fiesta men and women.
10:30 a.m. Festeras will be picked up by the festeros accompanied by the Agrupación Musicomunicipal Santa María Magdalena del Poble Nou de Benitatxell.
11:00 a.m. Departure of the Pans Benets from the Oratory to the Church.
11:30 a.m. Holy Mass in honour of the Virgen de la Rosa sung by the Parish Choir. At the end the blessed bread will be distributed through the streets of the village, accompanied by the Colla la Llebetjà and the Agrupación Musicomunicipal Santa María Magdalena de El Poble Nou de Benitatxell.

20:00 hours Solemn procession in honour of the Virgen de la Rosa, San Pancracio Mártir and San Luís. At the end of the procession, fireworks will be set off in the Portalet.
00:00 h. Music in the festival hall.


Monday 8th May

08:00 a.m. Awakening by the festive men and women.
11:00 a.m. Children’s playground in Calle La Pau.
11:00 a.m. Festeros will be collected by the festive procession accompanied by the charanga (brass band).
12:00 a.m. Mass in honour of San Pancracio Mártir and, at the end, presentation of the mayors of San Pancracio on the balcony of the Town Hall where they will dictate the rules of costume.

14:00 hours Giant Paella in Calle Mayor and La Pau. It will be distributed among the tables in La Pau and Mayor streets. The Town Hall will provide tables and chairs.
16:00 hours Cau Championship in the Social Centre. First prize 60 euros, second prize 40 euros and third prize 20 euros.
18:00 Toni Català performance in La Pau street.

Saturday 13th May

08:00 a.m. Awakening in charge of the festive men and women.
10:30 a.m. Informal parade accompanied by the Charanga Toca’t un ou.
12:30 a.m. Cucañas for the little ones in La Pau street.
2:00 p.m. Paella competition in Carrer Major and Carrer La Pau. With three prizes for the best paellas, the first prize of 100 euros, the second prize of 75 euros and the third prize of 50 euros.
17:00 Costume parade leaving from the festival centre through the streets of the village.
18:00 hours Discomóvil Karakatoa in Calle La Pau.
19:30 h. The festeros and festerteras will hand out sandwiches to all those who comply with the rules dictated by the Mayor of San Pancrazio.
