Helping our Four-Legged Friends

7 years of running the Javea Connect group has proven, beyond a show of a doubt that the local people are passionate about animals. From snakes to elephants, there has been discussions a-plenty on rescuing animals in distress.  Lost and found cats and dogs are are constant subject on the group and so many caring people are ready to jump in and assist animals in danger.

Here is a list of associations and charities that you can contact in an animal related crisis.

Animal Rescue and Welfare Charities

Whilst some of these charities get a small amount of financial help from their local authority they all rely on donations, and fundraising events to keep going. They are always looking for volunteers to either foster the animals whilst homes are being found or to walk the dogs so if you can help please contact your local group listed below.

APASA

Javea Dog pound has rescued or abandoned dogs and puppies ready for adoption. The APASA Dog Shelter in Javea takes care of homeless, lost and abandoned dogs. It has a No-Kill policy and provides a safe and caring environment until the animal is either reclaimed by its owner or placed in a new home.
