At around 1 pm today ( Thursday) Javea fishing boat was returning to port after fishing on the high seas, when the crew it found, 16 miles east of Cabo de la Nao and floating upside down, a body that was in a bad state of decay.
The sailors immediately alerted Maritime Traffic, and have tied a buoy to the lifeless body to mark its location and thus facilitate the rescue by the Civil Guard agents.
The master of the fishing boat has indicated that the body was wearing a neoprene suit, which has allowed it remain afloat, as well as a harness, leads to a suspicion that it could be a windsurfer or kitesurfer.
