From July 31st to August 2nd, Arenal Beach will host the 1st Xàbia Beach Soccer Tournament, a new sports initiative promoted by the City Council with the aim of revitalising the coastline during the summer months and reviving a tradition that, years ago, was already part of local sporting life.
The tournament will feature 16 teams, divided into four groups of four. A group stage will be played on Thursday and Friday, and on Saturday morning, the group matches will be completed before the knockout stage begins, which will include the semifinals, final, and third-place play-off.
The game format:-
- The group stage will feature two 12-minute halves.
- From the semifinals onward, matches will follow the official beach soccer format: three 10-minute halves.
Matches will be played in the afternoon and evening, from approximately 7:00 p.m. to midnight, on a single field located on Arenal beach.
The tournament will award cash prizes and gifts to the top teams:-
- First prize: €700 and access to the VIP area of the Social Club.
- Second prize: €400 and 10 free tickets for team members.
- Third prize: €200.
Registration costs €175 per team and includes insurance for all players, refreshments, and a gift provided by the sponsors. The minimum age to participate is 16, to ensure a balanced competition.
In addition, during the tournament, there will be a bar service to offer drinks and refreshments to the public.
