I know most of you would not fall for this but just in case…
Guardia Civil are alerting gas station customers about a new scam.It is a cyber hoax in which the scammers pretend to be ‘Coca-Cola’ to obtain personal data. Specifically, they send a phone message inviting their “targets” to be part of a Coca-Cola promotion in which they can receive up to 500 euros for their supposed 130th anniversary.
These fraudulent WhatsApp messages lead to a web survey form where they offer €500 cards to spend at Shell stations for 2 euros – when actually what they are “offering” is a service charge of €43.50 taken every 14 days from your bank account!
