Javea Connect members were quick to notice several police cars and an ambulance racing to Javea port on Tuesday 16th April and those closest to the scene were reporting that someone had fallen from the bridge by the dry riverbed in Javea.
Sadly, it was later confirmed that an 84-year-old British woman had jumped to her death.
“The woman committed suicide by plunging off a bridge above the dry riverbed,” a spokesperson for the Guardia Civil confirmed to a reporter at the Olive Press the following day.
The lady had lived in Javea right next to Avenida de Augusta for many years but her identity is not known.
