Stargazing: When to Best See the Perseid Meteor Shower

by Loraine Gostling

The “Tears of San Lorenzo” visits us every year in August.

This year’s peak activity will be on the 12th of August, peaking in Spain at around 23.00 hours.

It is essential to find a good spot, without light pollution, from which to watch them and so further out of town, the better. Mountains and beaches are perfect. Then face northeast and enjoy the show.

The meteorite shower is visible across the northern hemisphere but will be especially good in southern Europe.
