The Ministry of Education, Culture, Universities, and Employment has established the school calendar for the 2025-2026 academic year in the Valencian Community.
The new academic years will begin on September 8th, 2025Â in the stages of Early Childhood Education, Primary, Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training, both in Basic Level and in Intermediate and Higher Level.
The year will end on June 19th 2026 for all these educational levels.
The basic qualification training programs and second-chance vocational training will begin on September 10th, 2025, and will also conclude on June 19th, 2026.
Regarding Adult Education, as well as Artistic Education in Music and Dance (both elementary and professional) and Professional Education in Plastic Arts and Design, the course will run from September 15, 2025 to June 12, 2026.
Students of Special Education Sports Programs will begin classes on September 22nd, 2025, and will finish them on June 19th, 2026. For Official Language Schools, the course will begin on September 25th, 2025, and will also conclude on June 19th, 2026.
With this plan, preschool, primary, secondary, and high school will have 181 school days, two more than the current academic year.
Holidays and public holidays
The school calendar includes the Christmas holidays, from December 23rd, 2025, to January 6th, 2026, and the Easter holidays, from April 2nd to 13th, 2026, inclusive, as non-school periods.
In addition, the following days will be holidays:
- October 9, Day of the Valencian Community
- December 8, Immaculate Conception Day
- March 19, Saint Joseph’s Day
- May 1, International Workers’ Day
Likewise, local councils may propose up to three additional non-school days, in accordance with the procedure established in current regulations. The Ministry also considers the possibility of authorising a different school calendar for a specific school or town in the event of exceptional circumstances, following the corresponding procedure.
