No Human Injuries in Javea Park Fire and Two Cats Saved by Emergency Services

Having just left a meeting with friends and the hospitality of Caffe Milano yesterday, I was walking back to my car to the sound of many emergency services vehicles heading toward Javea Park.

We could see a lot of black smoke coming from the rooftops of one of the apartment blocks, but on a walk past the area, it seemed that the situation was rapidly under control.

It transpired that there was, indeed, a fire in one of the apartments on the first floor of the La Monada block. The flames seriously affected an apartment that, at that particular time, was unoccupied.

The tenant arrived shortly thereafter and had to be attended and cared for by the Red Cross, due to shock. In addition it was necessary to vacate two stairs of the building, although there were no personal injuries.

Three fire engines and eight firefighters from Dénia Bomberos attended, saving two cats that were in the building that were taken to be cared fr by the vet. Local Police and the Civil Guard also attended, as well as an architect from the City Council, who came to check the structure of the building.

At the moment, the cause of the fire is unknown.
