Moors and Christians Fiesta – Pego

Programme:-

Saturday 24 June

• 19: 00 hours: Entrance of Moors and Christians. Itinerary: Sant Rafel, Plaza del Mercado, Major, Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Sant Agustí, Pla de la Font, Paseo Cervantes (right side), up to Ausiàs March. The order of entry will be: Clarines and Drums, Bando Cristiano, Captain Cristiano, Clarines and Drums, Embajador Moro and Bando Moro.
• 00:00 hours: Moors and Christians Ball at the Cervantes Municipal Sports Center. Face to face with the Scream and Dr. Jekyll orchestras.

Sunday 25 June

• 11:30 am: Informal cercaviles through the town and popular lunch on the Paseo, in front of the Font de les Nimfes.
• 19: 00 hours : Entry of Moors and Young Christians. Itinerary: Plaza del Mercado, Mayor, Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Sant Agustí, Pla de la Font, Paseo Cervantes (right side), until the height of Ausiàs March. Order of entrance: Los cuatro gigantes de la Villa, Filà de Shepherdets, Filà de la Soldadesca, Filà de Smugglers, Bando Cristiano in the same order as the Entrance, Bando Moro in the same order as the Entrance.

Monday June 26

• 10: 00 hours: Children’s Day. Multi-adventure activities on Paseo Cervantes.
• 20: 00 hours: Parade of the Band of Bugles and Drums of the Ecce-Homo Brotherhood, from the Hermitage of Sant Josep to the Ecce-Homo Chapel.
• 8:30 p.m.: Concert by the Ecce-Homo Brotherhood Band of Trumpets and Drums in the Ecce-Homo square.

Tuesday June 27

• Of 09: 00 13 to: 00 hours: Exhibition of the image of Ecce-Homo in the Chapel.
• 10: 00 hours: Children’s Day. Aquatic activities in the Paseo Cervantes.
• 7:00 p.m.: Official game of the Valencian pilota. Pere Sala Street.
• 7:30 p.m.: Solemn eve of Ecce-Homo in its chapel. Next, transfer of the image to the church of the Assumption. Itinerary: Capitán Cendra, Sant Jaume, Sant Agustí, Mayorazgo Cendra, Town Hall Square and church.
• 8:00 p.m.: Clandestine party concert. Hermitage of Sant Josep.
• 11:00 p.m.: Mobile Disco Macro at the Multi-Activities Site.
• 23:45 hours: Bonfire night in the courtyard of the Ambra school.
• 00: 00 hours: Aurora in honor of the Most Holy Ecce-Homo through the streets of the town leaving from the chapel.
• 00: 30 hours: Verbena in the Pla de la Font with the Montecarlo orchestra.

Wednesday June 28

Festivities in honor of Santíssim Ecce-Homo

• 11:30 am: Solemn mass celebrated by the priests of Pego.
• 1:00 p.m.: At the end of the mass, an aerial mascletà in the Town Hall square.
• 7:00 p.m.: Traditional distribution of the murta. Itinerary: departure from the church, Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Mayorazgo Cendra, Ramon y Cajal, Camilo Pérez Pastor, Mar, Jaume I, Major, Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Ecce-Homo, ending in the chapel.
• 9:00 p.m.: Solemn procession of the Day of Blood. At the end of the procession, fireworks in honor of our patron.
