Javea’s Moors and Christians kick off a new edition with the celebration of the Mig Any Festival.
The festival will start the 2024 celebrations on 16th and 17th February. The Junta de Festes has decided to maintain last year’s programme (when the fiesta was spread over two days).
On Friday 16th, Duanes de la Mar will once again resound to the rhythm of the Moorish and Christian marches with the entrance that takes place at 8 pm.
Unlike in 2023, the route will be longer, linking emblematic points of the Gala Parades such as the Pío X arcade with the more traditional ones of the seaside neighbourhood as it travels along C/Virgen de Loreto.
On Saturday 17th, the day will get off to a great start with a brotherhood lunch for all the members of the filaes and will continue with more music and rhythm with an the entrance at 12:30 pm. On this occasion, the chosen route will take in some of the most important streets in Duanes, such as C/ Cristo del Mar and Avda. Jaime I.
Afterwards, the focus will be on the Carrasco Halls where the traditional Gala Lunch will take place with the authorities and other guests. There, the solemn act of Proclamation of the Mora and Cristiana Standard Bearers 2024 and the formal presentation of the current year’s Captaincy will take place.
