With the aim of promoting the traditional cuisine of Javea , the Association of Merchants and Employers of Aduanas del Mar, Xàbia Port, and the Association of Restauradores de Xàbia , have joined forces to continue promoting the gastronomic contest of Cruet de Peix Vila de Xàbia , which also uses fish from the fish market as a base.
The contest is aimed at all professionals in the hospitality industry, provided that they participate under representation of a company or entity related to gastronomy and located in the Valencian Community.
The chef may be accompanied by a kitchen assistant.
And the ingredients with which to make the Cruet de Peix will be the same for all the contestants, with the exception of condiments and the equipment to make the dishes.
The gastronomic contest will begin at 11 am, on April 21, and at around 1:30 pm, the presentation and tasting of dishes by the jury will then begin, with an interval of 10 minutes between courses.
The prize for the best dish will win 1,000 euros, plus a diploma and a gift voucher from the Hostelbe sponsor, worth 200 euros in hotel supplies.

The contest will be hosted within the festival ‘Peix i Davantal ‘, which will be held in the fish market. The gastronomic contest will be held inside but outside there will be complementary activities, to promote the area.
