The Bank of Spain will cease to exchange pesetas for euros on December 31st, 2020 , 18 years after the peseta was replaced by the euro as legal tender in Spain.

Until that date, the holders of the 1,610 million euros that remain in pesetas can request that they be changed in the headquarters of the Bank of Spain in Madrid and in any of its branches before the end of the year deadline
