L’Art de la Llata – Local history still very much alive today

The documentary L’Art de la Llata, directed by the stonemason José Gayà and produced by Pau Soler, received second prize in the first Alicante Documentary Awards contest of the Juan Gil-Albert Institute.

“L’Art de la Llata”

The documentary focuses on the long tradition of this wonderful old industry in Gata de Gorgos and Pedreguer. The audiovisual work was presented in 2021 to show the art of weaving palm leaves, masking baskets, hats and other everyday items that are part of the history of the Marina Alta.
