Air traffic controllers at 16 Spanish airports will go on strike in January and February

by Loraine Gostling

The strikes are called for January 30 and February 6, 13, 20 and 27 .

Unions USCA and CCOO (which represent privately run control towers in A Coruña, Alicante-Elche, Castellón, Cuatro Vientos, El Hierro, Fuerteventura, Ibiza, Jerez, Lanzarote, La Palma, Lleida, Murcia, Sabadell, Sevilla, Valencia and Vigo) have announced strikes for the above dates in January and February. These are the five consecutive Mondays from January 30 and all professionals who have work shifts that begin between 00:00 and 24:00 on those days are summoned.

Please be aware though, that the air traffic profession is controlled by government rules, and a very strict minimum service level will be rigorously enforced.
