Arrives again in June – a festival that will be very special this year as it celebrates it’s 75th anniversary.
In 2024 the celebrations will feature three presentations, two days of offerings, two days of floats, one day dedicated to the 75th anniversary and four concerts.
The three presentations:-
According to the representatives of Fogueres, the presentations/proclamations will be on June 7th, 8th and 9th; these being children’s, quintà and the anniversary special; all of them with the traditional parade from the Plaza de la Iglesia to the Plaza de la Constitución.
Special Day 75 years
June 22nd will be dedicated to the 75th anniversary in which there will be three parades, a mass, music and honorary wine. At around 19:30 p.m., an offering will take place in which the ladies can participate. This will leave from the Plaza Marina Alta -Post Office- to the Church.
At night, this celebration will culminate with a brotherhood dinner in the Plaza de la Constitución officials and their companions, for which tickets can be purchased in advance.
The traditional offering for clubs, quintà , associations and people in general will be on June 21st.
Floats
Another event to look forward to, is the float parade. These will take place over two days on June 23rd and 24th.
Concerts
The Nit de Rock moves this year to June 14th with the performance of Arsènic, Xavi Sarrià and The Tyets. The other big concert will take place on June 21st with Monkey.
More events
But this anniversary will not only be seen during the two weeks of festivities but also opens its doors months before with participation in the programming of the festivities in honour of Jesús Nazareno that includes a bow-making workshop the first days of the month of May; as well as a parade of costumes from the history of Xà bia clothing on April 30th in the tent installed in the Plaza de la Constitución.
On the other hand, the Festival Commission and the Festival area are working on a special exhibition of the history of Fogueres, which will open the first week of June in Ca Lambert where a video and photos of the evolution of the festivities will be projected.
