Moors & Christians Fiesta – Javea

FULL PROGRAMME FROM 11TH TO 19TH JULY

SATURDAY 11 JULY

  • 8:00 am Opening and set-up of the festival headquarters.
  • 8:00 pm Parade through the streets of Duanes to collect the representatives from the Moorish Kábilas and Christian Headquarters.
  • 8:30 pm Reception drinks hosted by the Captain Filà AL-TARIKS in Calle Sevilla.
  • 9:00 pm Parade through the streets of Duanes with the representatives taking part in the Opening Ceremony.
  • 9:20 pm On arrival at Avenida Jaime I, the official firework rocket will be launched, followed by the ceremonial switching on of the festival lights.
  • 9:30 pm Official Presentation of the 2026 Moors and Christians Festival on Avenida Lepanto, attended by local and festival authorities.
  • 11:30 pm KRAKATOA Mobile Disco until 4:00 am, with a resonably priced bar run by the 2027 Captaincy.

SUNDAY 12 JULY

  • 1:00 pm Brass band parade through Duanes de la Mar by Filà Schaitans.
  • 8:30 pm 21st Festival Music Concert on Avenida Lepanto performed by the Centre Artístic Musical de Xàbia Band, Featuring a performance by ENDANZA Ballet.

MONDAY 13 JULY

  • 9:00 pm Visit to Arenal Beach. Parade along the David Ferrer Promenade with ENDANZA Ballet. The evening concludes with a fireworks display and refreshments for all participating Filaes, courtesy of La Fontana, Posidonia and Náutica Canal de la Fontana restaurants.

TUESDAY 14 JULY

  • 8:00 pm Visit to Javea’s Historic Centre, ending with a Floral Offering to the patron saint, Sant Jaume, followed by a fireworks display.

WEDNESDAY 15 JULY

  • 6:30 pm Festive Alardo with arquebus firing along Avenida Jaime I.
  • 8:15 pm Floral Offering to Sant Jaume, ending at Our Lady of Loreto Church. During the ceremony, the Filaes and Festival Committee will donate food to Cáritas.
  • 10:30 pm Filà Paella Competition on Avenida Jaime I with prizes, music and a mobile disco until 3:00 am.

 

THURSDAY 16 JULY

 

  • 9:00 pm Gathering of the Christian side on La Grava Beach.
  • 9:30 pm Moorish Landing featuring a re-enactment of the arrival of the Moorish troops, arquebus fire and performances by LEGEND.
  • 10:00 pm Moorish Embassy and Surrender of the Castle, followed by a parade of both sides.
  • Midnight Brass Band Night visiting the Kábilas and Headquarters until 3:00 am.

FRIDAY 17 JULY

  • 11:00 am Brass band parade by the Almoradins and Almoriscos Filaes.
  • 5:00 pm 25th Pepe Prats Valencian Pilota Trophy.
  • 9:00 pm Battle with arquebus fire on La Grava Beach.
  • 9:30 pm Christian Embassy and Reconquest of the Castle, followed by a parade.
  • 11:00 pm Vinyl Disco featuring 1960s, 70s and 80s classics, rock and indie music.

SATURDAY 18 JULY

  • 12:00 pm Parade by the Captain Filà AL-TARIK’S, festival officials and committee visiting the Kábilas and Headquarters.
  • 8:00 pm Grand Gala Parade of the Moorish and Christian sides.
  • 11:30 pm Live performance by ORQUESTA LÍMITE until 4:00 am.

SUNDAY 19 JULY

  • 10:00 am Children’s water games on Paseo Jaime I.
  • 10:30 am Free ice cream served by the Moorish and Christian Standard Bearers.
  • 11:00 am Brass band parade by Filà Contrabandistes.
  • 6:00 pm Parade of the Bands followed by a joint performance of the pasodoble ‘Xàbia’.
  • 7:00 pm Grand Gala Parade of the Moorish and Christian sides, followed by a spectacular night-time mascletà from La Grava Beach.

SATURDAY 25 JULY – SANT JAUME DAY

  • 7:30 pm Gathering at Our Lady of Loreto Church.
  • 8:00 pm Solemn Mass in honour of Sant Jaume and in memory of deceased festival members.
