The Generalitat plans to install vaccination points in 161 municipalities of the Community: in the 16 cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants and another 145 in localities with less than 45,000 inhabitants, guaranteeing the needs of each health department, so everything indicates that in the region there will be several.

The Generalitat plans to install vaccination points in a total of 161 municipalities of the Valencian Community for when, as of April 1st, the massive administration of vaccinations can begin with the arrival of more doses. According to the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, there will be massive vaccination spaces in the 16 cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants, while another 145 points will be enabled in towns with less than 50,000 inhabitants.

And that will be done by responding to the needs of each health department. This means that the Marina Alta will have at least one mass vaccination point, given that in this region there is no population above 50,000 inhabitants.

It should be thought, however, that if in the entire Community there will be 145 points in smaller municipalities of that population, there will be several vaccination points in the Marina Alta. In fact, it must be remembered that the main municipalities in size in the region have already offered various alternative spaces for this mass vaccination.

Puig has highlighted that “2% of the immunized population” is already in the Community and has indicated that the hierarchy means that the most vulnerable are vaccinated first, noting that it has been the technicians who have drawn up the distribution criteria. However, he pointed out that with the AstraZeneca vaccine, which is only recommended for those under 55 years of age, the Valencian Community has received 10.7% of the vaccines, in relation to its population size.
