Sailing Week at Javea Yacht Club @ Javea Yacht Club

From Saturday 17 to Saturday 24, Sailing Week will bring together, as highlighted by the Club, more than 300 sailors of various different classes: cruise, sailing, sailing and veterans. This is the planned sports program:

August 17-18: Rodolfo Tomás de Optimist and Vela Ligera Trophy.
August 19: 3 Cabos Motor Regularity Trophy.
August 20-21: Autonomous Optimist Championship by Community teams.
August 22: Optimist veteran trophy.
August 22-24: Sir Thomas Lipton trophy.
August 23-24: Sir Thomas Lipton Club trophy.
August 24: Comodoro “Federico Gimeno” trophy.

Apart from sports activities, there are sets of events for all audiences, sailors, family, friends and neighbours in general.

The two most important are the children’s party, which this year includes as a novelty a costume contest and the paella contest in which more people participate every year and will have the musical accompaniment from the Soulomonics.

23:00 hours PRESENTATION OF THE FESTIVALS 2019. Presentation of the Mayoralesas and Mayorales as great representatives of the 2019 Festivities on Avenida Jaime I. Then, performance of the MONTECARLO orchestra until 05:00 h.

Sunday, August 25: Sports and Culture Day

From 09:00 to 14:00 h . X José Lledó Fast Painting Contest . The presentation will be made at the Fisherman’s Market and registration can be made at the addresses and numbers that appear in the Festival Book and Festes Mare de Déu de Loreto Facebook page

A First Prize of 600 euros and a second prize of 200 euros will be awarded, plus a Local and Regional Prize of 200 euros each.

An exhibition of the works in the Soler Blasco Museum will be held from October 25 to November 10. The awards ceremony will be held on November 2 at the Lonja during the dinner of the XIII Meeting of Traditional Boats of Javea.

10:00 hours XXVIII Chess Championship Mare de Déu de Loreto (XXXI Open Vila de Xàbia) on C/Severo Ochoa with participation of national and international teachers. 6:30 pm Extraordinary Departure of Raspall. The XÀBIA and OTOS teams will compete in the C/Virgen de Loreto.

8:00 pm Concert by the Jove Band of the Artistic Musical Centre of Javea on Avenida Lepanto.

22:00 hours NIGHT OF COMEDY in the Av. Lepanto. The theatre group of the Comissió de Festes Mare de Déu de Loreto, TOT RIST, will represent an adaptation of Coneixes a la teua dona, by Leopoldo G. Blat and Fernando Muñoz, which was originally released in Valencia in December 1934. There will be a bar service with snacks.

22:00 Sensational MUSICAL hours of the Comissió de Festes on the Paseo Marítimo with which there will be a tour of the best known music of the 70s, 80s and 90s. Bar service available.

Tuesday, August 27

9:00 pm VI Wine Tasting Mare de Déu De Loreto . This year we will enjoy “Wines of Payment” and discover several wines, unique and personal, from different Spanish regions. The event will be directed and guided by the winemaker Graciela Pena Valente of VinoVitaro and the collaboration of the sommelier Raúl Caselles of the Bodega Miguel and Salones Carrasco . Maximum registration of 65 people with payment of 15 euros on August 26 at the Casal Fester (C/Severo Ochoa) from 7 pm to 8:30 pm.

7:00 pm Presentation of the poetry book Zarpar [Broken Sonetos] by Encarna Martínez Oliveras and Vicente López-Ibor Mayor at the Library of Customs of the Sea in Botànic Cabanilles.

6:00 p.m. Simultaneous Chess with the participation of the international master Francisco Sánchez-Guirado in C/Severo Ochoa.

19:00 hours I Football Table Tournament organized by Peña El Tremoló and sponsored by Linmania in the C/Virgen de Loreto. Registration can be done by contacting the members of the club. There will be a bar and music  to liven up the atmosphere.

22:00 . Brotherhood dinner on the promenade. The Comissió de Festes will invite all attendees to the aperitif, drink and dessert. Then dance with the TWISTER orchestra until 04:00.

During this day, Customs residents will begin to decorate their homes, facades, streets and shop windows for the holidays this year. The merchants association, XÀBIA PORT, and the FESTIVAL COMMISSION have called three competitions with which they want to encourage decorating the main streets during the festivities and reward the creativity and skills of the most unique decorations. The terms of both contests are in the Book of the Fiestas 2019.

The Comissió de Festes encourages all the neighbours, shops and establishments to participate in order to bring the festive atmosphere closer to all corners of Customs of the Sea and contribute to a greater show off of the fiestas.

Sunday, September 1: Boys and Girls day

09:00 hours Children’s awakening starring the little ones on their big day of the Fiestas. Any child who wants to participate should bring their own instrument to C/ Jaime I Avenue but The Comissió de Festes will provide an instrument to all those who do not have one.

10:00 hours Chocolate prepared and distributed by the neighbours of C/Doctor Fleming on Paseo Jaime I. Continuing with popular games on C/Triana. Then, traditional merengada on the Promenade. Afterwards there will be a water festival with the collaboration of Transport Montgó.

11:00 hours Inauguration of the Children’s Park and Aquajocs on Paseo Jaime I.

Then, walk through the Historic Centre distributing Coca Maria and Mistela and visit the Santa María de Betania Day Centre. During the course of the same, a bouquet of flowers will be offered to the Patron in her niche of Loreto Street.

12:30 pm La Peña La Bufa will invite our elders for a snack.

1:00 pm General Bell Campaign announcing the religious celebrations in honour of our patrons.

6:00 p.m. Peña La Bufa will visit the Asylum Hospital Hermanos Cholbi.

8:00 PM OFFERING FLOWERS TO MARE DE DÉU DE LORETO. The Comissió de Festes invites all the Peñas, streets, associations, local festivities, residents of Customs and all Javea to participate in this very endearing act.

11:30 p.m. ROUND NIGHT TO MAYORALESAS AND MAYORALES, starting at the Parroquia del Mar. At the end, on C/Severo Ochoa, a wine of honour will be offered courtesy of the Mayorales of 2019 and the Comissió de Festes.

12:00 pm Informal parade through the streets of Customs of the Mayoralesas, Mayorales and Comissió de Festes to the Santísimo Cristo del Mar street.

12:15 pm Globotà under the decked out of Bartolomé Ros street for all children.

13:00 FESTA DE CARRER in the Santísimo Cristo del Mar .The association of merchants and hoteliers XÀBIA PORT will announce and deliver the prizes to the winners of this year’s decorating contests.

12:00 . Celebration of the Solemn Eucharist in honor of Our Patroness La Mare de Déu de Loreto with the assistance of municipal authorities, town hall of the Fishermen’s Association, representatives of other Fiestas, Mayoralesas and Mayorales of 2019, Comissió and town of Xàbia. The mass will be sung by the parish choir. At the end, parade of all attendees to the mascletà site and then deafening MASCLETÀ on Jaime I Avenue.

7:00 p.m. Pasacalle of the Comissió de Festes and the Music Band to pick up the Mayorales and Mayoralesas and accompany them to the parish temple.

20:00 . Solemn PROCESSION OF THE MARE DE DÉU DE LORETO through the streets of Customs.

The BIOPARC Valencia is an exceptional day of for all the family. Experience the animals up close with lots of daily experiences to enjoy.

7. Brevis Minigolf – Sol Park 

If your wanting to put your feet up whilst the kids play in a safe enclosed environment with plenty on offer then Brevis Minigolf is the place to visit.
For the children there is a medium sized soft play centre under cover and shaded but fully visible from anywhere in the restaurant with tables and chair directly next to it. During busy periods there is a gigantic bouncy castle slide great for kids of all ages (and adults if you can sneak on!). The park is littered with trampolines, and kids toys. A small go kart style track lets kids choose a range of pedal bikes, trikes and cars.
For the older kids and adults there is a very good mini golf available and a small football pitch area. There is a full bar and restaurant offering various tapas, light bites and full meals. All well priced and good quality. In addition is a well stocked children’s tuck shop filled with small toys and sweet to keep them occupied.

8. Morai Park Fun Fair

Morai Park Fun Fair is an evening entertainment attraction open during the summer. Located in the main car park of Moraira it is a permanent fixture offering a range of fun fair rides for children.
From wacky fun houses, powered trikes, trampolines, train rides, dodgems and more. There are also tradition games like ‘hook-a-duck’ and cork gun shooting games.
Drinks and treats are available in the small cafe and rides are paid for by buying tickets which are approx. €2.00 each and sold in various bundles.
Coin operated machines are dotted around the park also. A lovely attraction so spend a few hours keeping the younger ones entertained.

9. Valor Chocolate Factory – Museum 

The Valor chocolate museum opened its doors in 1998 in order to raise peoples awareness of how this rich chocolate is made.
Visitors will learn about the Valor chocolate heritage, its upkeep and research work. The museum houses some of the best collections of machinery used in the chocolate making world.

There is also a restaurant  which resembles a clump of old fincas – where food is cooked according to bookings. It has an extensive terrace where you can view the whole area. A characteristic place and very unique.

Open Wednesday to Sunday. Reservation advised for eating at the restaurant (tel: 965 973 244)  partly because the ingredients are brought in fresh every day.

15. Lo Rufete Multi Adventure Park

If your an active family looking to do multiple activities in one location, then Lo Rufete could be an ideal day out for you.

With an assortment of activities available including Quad Bikes, Horse Riding, Paintballing, Kayaks, Mini Golf, Zip Wire, Archery, Eco Friendly Cars and a play park with bouncy castle.  Bring your swim wear for the large on site swimming pool.

16. Aqualandia       

Aqualandia is one of the largest water parks in the world with a host of water based fun and activities.  Located just outside of Benidorm the large park will provide a whole day out for all the family.

Facilities include changing rooms, safety deposit boxes, restaurants, picnic areas.

There is a variety of slides from gentle water slides for the younger children to heart racing fast slides for the adventurous rider.  Please be aware height restrictions will apply.  There is also a number of swimming pools and sunbeds available to hire.

Season opens in May and you can often find discount vouchers in local stores.

17, Mundomar

Located in the theme park district of Benidorm next door to Aqualandia this is a must visit attraction for animal enthusiasts.  Think Seaworld Florida, here in Spain.

A popular show is the dolphin display which takes place daily between 13.30 and 16.30, you can even watch the show from an underwater viewing point.

As well as dolphin shows there are also sea-lion, seal and parrot shows available.

The park has a variety of restarants, picnic areas, shops and a children’s play area.  Discount vouchers are often available in shops.

Terra Mitica                                                                                      Terra Mitica is a theme park located on the outskirts of Benidorm.  The park is divided into 5 themed zones; Egypt, Greece, Rome, Iberia and The Islands.  If you enjoy fast rides, roller coasters and log flumes them this is the place to get your thrills.

Enjoy a day riding the roller coasters.  When your ready there are ample places to buy drinks and snacks as well as gifts and goodies.  Terra Mitica also has various shows throughout the day to keep you entertained.

19. Terra Natura & Aqua Natura    

Terra Natura is a zoo offering visitors the chance to get up close to the animals of the park with hidden barriers, you can experience being in with the animals whilst hidden barriers keep both animals and visitors safe from each each.  The park stretches 79 acres boasting over 1500 animals and is open all year.

Once inside the park visitors can attend several daily shows including a bird of prey show amongst others.  Children will enjoy the open petting zoo area where Llama, goats and similar animals wander freely around you in a secure zone, pet the animals and enjoy their personalities.

There are several large play park areas and a high wire obstacle course for the children to enjoy.

There are a number of picnic areas and food zones where you can purchase food, drinks and ice creams.  A gift shop is located at the end of the park.  There are plenty of facilities. Toilets, baby changing etc dotted around the site.

The sister park is Aqua Natura which is physically attached to the zoo and accessible via its own entrance.  With a number of large swimming pools and child friendly flumes.  For the older children and adults are a range of fast flumes some using rubber rings.

There is a relaxing Jacuzzi available and VIP sun bed areas which offer exclusive extras.

21. Oceanographic ..The Largest Aquarium in Europe

I could go on and on about how much I love going to this place, where all the animal life ( including the humans in charge, Lois, Pepa and Jules) make you forget all the the daily grind for a few hours and you can just sit, wander, drink, nibble and enjoy the magnificent simplicity of being out in the campo in La Xara with nature all around you.

Horses, donkeys, goats,dogs and cats wander freely and sometimes even join you at the bar for a drink. Free tapas and beer, wine soft drinks and beverages are all just €1.00 donation.
