Sacramento, California, 2002. A young woman named Christine McPherson (Saoirse Ronan), nicknamed Lady Bird, faces her final year in high school. His desire is to get a place in the university, in a cosmopolitan environment, in order to start a new life away from the suburbs.
But first he will have to learn to relate to his mother (Laurie Metcalf), a stubborn woman who works tirelessly as a nurse to keep her family afloat after Lady Bird’s father (Tracy Letts) loses her job. The young student will also have to survive her academic and emotional misadventures with her classmates, and that is because her emotions are on the surface.
